Batteries for quick passes on a cuff or collar and for travel. The cord for long sessions, since it runs for as long as it is plugged in.
Is it safe on a thin sweater?
Raise the height cover first and use light circles. The honeycomb guard keeps the knit away from the blade, and you can lower the cover once you see how the fabric responds.
