Bymore fabric shaver removing pills from a knit sweater

Desire Meets Creative

Bymore fabric shavers bring a sweater back to its first wear

Pills are only loose fibers that knotted. We make two shavers that lift them off sweaters, coats, blankets and couches, so the knit underneath looks the way it did the day you first put it on.

  • Compact: battery or corded
  • Large head: 65mm, 6-leaf blades
  • Spare blades in the box

Using a Bymore fabric shaver on sofa upholstery

Sixty seconds from pilled to first wear

The same four moves on every fabric we have tried.

  1. Lay it flatSpread the garment on a table or board and smooth it with your hand. A flat fabric is a safe fabric.
  2. Start highOn the compact, raise the height cover. On either shaver, begin with no pressure at all.
  3. Small circlesGlide in light, overlapping circles. Let the pills come to the mesh; do not press the mesh into the knit.
  4. Empty and storePull off the lint container, tip it out, brush the head. It is ready for the next sweater.

Where a Bymore earns its place

Three rooms, three kinds of fabric, one small motor.

Fabric shaver for bedding, upholstery and clothing

The closet

Sweaters, hoodies, coats and scarves. The compact handles cuffs, collars and underarms; the large head takes whole panels.

The living room

Couches, cushions and throws pill where people sit. The mesh guard keeps blades off the upholstery while lint is lifted.

The suitcase

The compact runs on batteries, weighs little and locks its container twice, so it rides next to clean clothes.

Recommend-yes! 5 stars- not 4

This works at removing pills. The reservoir holds a good bit of lint, requiring less empties, and is easy to clean.I’ve owned one that was too small, not covering much territory, and blades didn’t remove the pills. This one is a bit larger, but small enough to fit in the corners and around cushion edges. It is not chargeable. To work it is either used with a usb cord attachment, or batteries. I like using the usb cord, but it isn’t long enough to reach the entire sofa, so an extension cord or batteries come in handy. The motor slows down indicating it is getting full and time to dump lint reservoir and clean, so you don’t fill to far and cause unwanted issues. Overall it is a great value, easy to use and clean, so I recommend it.

Effective

This shaver works well for removing lint and fuzz from clothing. It’s easy to handle and does a decent job with different fabrics by adjusting the guard height. The motor is strong enough to get rid of pilling without damaging clothes, and cleaning the lint collector is simple. Overall, it’s an effective tool for keeping clothes looking clean.

Best $23 I have spent. Saved my cashmere!

I am going to be completely honest here… I had a sweater I wanted to take on a trip. It was a very expensive knee length long sleeve cashmere sweater that I love. I was almost ready to get rid of it. As a last ditch effort, I bought this along with another more expensive one. This one had same-day delivery. For $23 my expectations were really low.. I could not believe how much it took off the sweater. I didn’t even have time to put it and lay it down properly on an ironing board. I did it over a chair. I got 5 full containers of piling in less than 10 min. Well, the more expensive one is on its way, I think I’ll just stick with this one as it definitely did a good job. Total deal to rescue a nice cashmere in no time!!!

Works Well— Don’t Lose the Charger!

I love this fabric shaver and have had it for over a year now. You just have to be realistic with your expectation. It performs well on synthetic materials, on jersey, and other woven fabrics. With knit sweaters it’s ok— if they are already fuzzy, you aren’t going to see a huge difference, but this has been a game changer for refreshing some otherwise unsightly pilling. The hoodie I’m attaching photos of for reference I purchased thrifted specifically because I knew this type of fabric would be easy to shave back to really great condition. In the photo the left side shown has been shaved with this product and right side is the “before” so to speak. The first one I had I lost the charging cable that went with it and thought I could use a different cable for another device that had the same type of plug. Do not do this! It fried and I had to buy another one.

Does the job

Very good fabric shaver. I used it on pilling on my sofa and it worked great. It removed all the little fabric bumps and didn’t pull on any fabric. It’s well made and it’s a nice size. Came with extra blades and is pretty quiet.

A plain guide to Bymore fabric shavers

If you landed here with a pilled sweater in one hand, this is the short version of everything we know. It covers what a fabric shaver does, which of our two fits your fabric, and how to use one without regret.

Do fabric shavers really work?

Yes, on the thing they are made for. Pills are fibers that worked loose and tangled into small knots on the surface. A fabric shaver spins a blade behind a perforated guard; the knots poke through the holes and are cut off, while the flat fabric stays outside. Our compact shaver turns its blade at up to 9000 RPM and uses suction to carry the clippings into a container.

What is the difference between a lint remover and a fabric shaver?

A lint roller or brush picks up what is lying on the fabric: hair, dust, loose fluff. A fabric shaver removes what is attached to it: pills and fuzz that are still anchored by a few fibers. Most closets want both. When people search for a lint remover for clothes and mean bobbles on a sweater, a shaver is the tool.

Which Bymore should I choose?

Go by the size of what pills. For sweaters, cuffs, collars and travel, the compact is enough and runs on batteries or a 6 ft cord. For blankets, coats, bedding and couches, the large-head shaver covers more with its 65mm face and six-leaf blades. The table below puts the two side by side.

Will a sweater shaver damage delicate fabric?

The guard is there to prevent that. On the compact, a honeycomb mesh with three hole sizes and an adjustable height cover set the distance between blade and knit; on the large head, a protective mesh does the spacing. Keep the garment flat, use no pressure, avoid seams, buttons and loose threads, and test an inside hem first.

Can I use it on a couch or bedding?

Both listings name furniture and upholstery, and the large-head one adds blankets, scarves and bedding. Work in overlapping lanes and empty the container often; a sofa holds more lint than you expect.

What comes in the box, and what do the colors change?

The compact listing names a 6 ft AC cord and two extra blades alongside the shaver; you add the batteries. The large-head listing names extra replacement blades. Color changes nothing about how a shaver cuts, although the price at the store can differ from one finish to the next, so it is worth opening two or three on the page with every finish before you decide.

How do I look after the shaver?

Empty the lint container after each garment, brush the head, and change the blade when passes start leaving pills behind. Spare blades are in the box with both lines. More in how to use a fabric shaver.

Asked before the first pass

The questions that come up most, answered plainly.

Are fabric shavers worth it?

If a sweater you like has started to pill, a shaver costs less than replacing it and takes a few minutes. Ours start at the price of a lunch.

What is the Bymore fabric shaver good for?

Removing lint, fuzz and pills from sweaters, hoodies, coats and everyday clothing, and from couches, cushions, bedding and upholstery.

Does the compact shaver need batteries?

It runs on batteries for cordless use, or plugged in with the batteries removed. You choose with a slide switch.

How big is the large shaving head?

The shaving surface is 65mm across, with a six-leaf stainless steel blade behind a protective mesh.

Are replacement blades included?

Yes. The compact line lists two extra blades, and the large-head line includes extra replacement blades.

How do I empty it?

Both shavers have a removable lint container. Pull it off, tip it into a bin and fit it back.
